The first step is to provide the space for your teen to talk and feel heard without judgment. Next, we work though the feelings underlying the defiance and disrespect, whether they be anger, grief, worry, or fear. Lastly, we work to improve the communication so that issues can be discussed and agreed upon together as a family. Once that happens, your teen will begin feeling heard and an important member of the family. At this point, the amount of defiance and disrespect can’t help but decrease.

My specialty is helping people create and maintain satisfying and healthy relationships…with themselves and with others. I love helping family members feel closer and more connected to one another. With that said, I specialize in communication and parenting skills, working with anger/anxiety/depression, and increasing overall confidence and self-worth. My goal is to live my own life to the fullest, and I want to help others do the same!
